U.S. Domestic Security Policy after the September 11 Attack

The essay analyzes the implications caused by the September 11, 2001 on U.S. domestic security policy over the last decade.

In the author’s view, the September 11 incident can be likened to the attack on the Pearl Harbor, changing the U.S. way of looking at national security. Then the writer reviews various steps taken both by the U.S. Administrations and Congress to deal with terrorist challenges especially regarding air security as well as migration and entry into the U.S..

In conclusion, the writer points out that since the September 11 attack, American soil is no longer a safe heaven for Americans and the U.S. has taken many measures including operations in foreign countries to ensure American security. However, this approach has negatively affected economic sectors such as air service and tourism as well as negative reaction to U.S. operation abroad.
