India: New Prime Minister, new policies?

According to the election result announced on May, 17th, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in which the Indian People's Party plays the key role, won the right to form the government without coalition with any other party. In total 543 House seats, NDA won 336, People's Party (BJP) 282, beyond the provision of the minimum number of seats (272) and reserved the right to form the government. At the first meeting of the BJP Parliamentary Committee Mr. Narendra Modi was selected as Prime minister of India. Modi called that result “victory of the people”. BJP president said that the election result marked “the beginning of a new era” of India. Indian and public overseas congratulated the historic significant victory of BJP. Then Modi sworn on May, 26th. Analysts had predicted the new government would adjust the domestic policy, foreign policy more in line with the trends of development in the new period.
