Korean Peninsula in the Strategic Interest of America and China

Being located at an important international strategic chessboard, after World War II, the Korean Peninsula became a hot spot in great power dispute. Arguably, China and the U.S are two external factors which have most influence on this peninsula. The U.S. has developed a series of measures and policies to serve its the global leadership strategy. During the Korean War, the U.S. has “formalized” their presence here and then became a factor causing complexity and instability in this region. Unlike the U.S., China is located in North East Asia region, near the Korean Peninsula. Therefore, any actions that happen in this peninsula, especially in the Northern part, have a direct impact on the Northeast border of China. If America always makes “pretext” to maintain military forces here, the Chinese just “sit at home” to deploy its strategy. The following article will explore more about the strategic interests of the U.S. and China in the Korean Peninsula.
