Adjustments of India’s Foreign Policy under the Modi Government

Within the past few years, India’s foreign policy under the Modi government has seen some clear adjustments in goals, giving importance to creating a peaceful environment for economic development and to enhancing international position. For neighbouring regions, India actively engaged and expanded strategic space with its newest policies: "Neighbourhood First", SAGAR Initiative, Act East and Indo-Pacific Vision. For big powers, India has shifted to strategic autonomy, developing balanced diplomatic relations while also keeping distance. The most important adjustment to be known of is the promotion India-America strategic partnership. The fulcrum for India's above adjustments is the increase in economic, defense, scientific and technological strength and internal political stability without forgetting Prime Minister Modi’s strong sense of leadership.
