Theoretical and Practical Values of the Ho Chi Minh Thoughts on Integration

President Ho Chi Minh has left numerous legacies on foreign policy and diplomacy, including thoughts of international integration. He held that international integration is an inevitable trend and the goal of international integration is to capitalise on external forces to serve the struggle for independence. He attached great importance to the rally of forces and held that all nations need to highlight solidarity and intensify cooperation. On the other hand, he clarified that the principles of solidarity and international cooperation or integration should be based on the respect for national sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity. Internal forces are the decisive factor determining successful international cooperation by combining strength of the nation and the era. Regarding relationship between external and internal forces, he asserted that internal force is the decisive factor and we must rely on our people. His thoughts of international integration bear immense theoretical and practical values.
