On Viet Nam’s Foreign Relations in the New Context

This article argues that we are moving to a “ well-connected multipollar world”. It provesthat despite of being a small country and currently facing new severe challenges to sovereignty, security and development, Vietnam can still, in the long run, enjoy strategic advantages to capitalize on changes in game rules and the new world order that are in the making, with a view to consolidating the position of independence and maximizing external resources for security and development of the country. Enhancing the utmost independence and flexibility of foreign relations in the “well-connected multipollar world” is the absorption of thought and demonstration of practice of Ho Chi Minh Diplomacy, for the best interests of Vietnam.
